CRI-SIL maintains a well equipped silicone testing lab utilizing the latest in ASTM test equipment and procedures. Our technicians are highly trained and adhere to industry testing standards and protocols. The following is a list of our in-house testing capabilities. For additional testing capabilities CRI-SIL utilizes external accredited laboratories.

  • Rheology (ASTM D2084-07): Utilizing a Oscillating Disc Rheometer (ODR) R100 Model that can range from 200’F to 400’F
  • Crack Growth (ASTM D813-07): Utilizing a DeMattia test machine.
  • Viscosity:  Utilizing a Brookfield HADVE viscometer with various spindles and a Brookfield HBDV-II +CP viscometer with a CP-52 “cone”.
  • Heat Resistance (ASTM D573): Utilizing a hot air circulating ovens capable of 200’F to 600’F.
  • Fluid Resistance (ASTM D471): Utilizing a heated oil block capable of achieving temperatures from 212’F to 375’F.
  • Flame Resistance (UL-94):  Utilizing a self-contained, digitally controlled flame cabinet.
  • Electrical Conductivity:  Utilizing a Keithly 580 Micro-ohmmeter.
  • Hardness (ASTM D2240): Shore A, utilizing a digital durometer gauge on an automatic operating stand and Shore 00, utilizing an analog Rex Durometer gauge.

  • Tensile, Elongation, Modulus (ASTM D412): Utilizing a T2000 universal testing machine.
  • Tear B and C (ASTM D624-00): Utilizing a T2000 universal testing machine.

  • Bayshore Resilience (ASTM D2632): Utilizing a Shore Resiliometer.
