Dear Clients,

Vendor lead times. It seems that rarely a day goes by without a prospective customer asking me what our lead times are. When I
went to school, the latest management technique was called "JIT" or Just In Time
delivery. It's a great concept and lends itself well to lean manufacturing
practices. Lately though, it seems that many of the "big names" in the
silicone industry have moved their lead times in the opposite direction.
Material managers are reporting four, six, and sometimes eight weeks from
order placement to receipt!
The difficulty of trying to manage lead times of up to two
months can be daunting. Your customer needs their product and if they have
to wait too long, they may decide to purchase elsewhere. After quality and
price, lead times are probably the most important variable to any
fabricator.

HOW CAN CRI-SIL HELP MAKE YOUR BUSINESS MORE
PROFITABLE?
CRI-SIL understands you often need to receive your
materials "ASAP." Although it's not always possible, we work hard on
a daily basis to keep lead times to
our customers at two weeks or less. If you are a business owner or
materials manager and are currently experiencing long lead times, why
not contact CRI-SIL for a quote on your material needs. Often, we can have
a quote out to you within 24 hours.
- Over the past 18 months, CRI-SIL's average time from
purchase order receipt to ship date was 12.7 business days. Additionally,
considering some of our customers place their orders up to six months
before they need their material, our average is actually much better than
12.7.
- Over the past 18 months, our customers have received
free lab samples from us, on average, in 4.35 days.
- Over the past 18 months, our customers have received
quotations from us, on average, in 1.66 days.
- 99% of CRI-SIL's materials have no minimum
order quantity.

TECHNICAL TIP
DID YOU KNOW:
Phenyl silicones make great dampening
compounds?
By utilizing phenyl on the back bone of the silicone
polymer, a properly cured material will offer excellent vibration and
sound dampening properties. The large phenyl groups act as shock absorbers
greatly reducing any vibration or sound that the part is exposed to.
